Background noises
Research has shown that Auditory and Aural learners will be able to concentrate more effectively when there is noise in the background. Taking this into consideration, you could revise with things in the background such as:
- T.V.
- Music
- People talking (such as in a busy room)
Read Aloud
Another good way to revise for you is to read through your notes on whatever you are revising for, but read them ALOUD to yourself. This will work a lot better for your learning style then the tradition form of reading them to yourself in your head.
Record and Listen
Recording whatever it is that you are trying to learn is a good way to revise. Then, when you have reorded it you can easily listen to it whenever you get a chance, which will help greatly for your learning type.
Revision methods and tips for Kinaesthetic Learners
Study in Small Blocks
Kinaesthetic learners often have a lot of energy and find they can't sit and revise for very long, often finding themselves losing concentration. So instead of revising for hours on end, study for small periods, even if it's only 10 or 20 minutes, and take breaks in between so you can come back to your work and concentrate again later.
Physical Activities
As previously said, Kinaesthetic learners have a lot of energy and can't sit around for very long. So, instead of sitting at your desk with a pile of notes and books in front of you, do some sort of other activity as you read. Good examples are chewing gum, using a Yo-Yo, walking around and squeezing a stress ball. Try out any sort of activity that you think will help you focus while you read through your notes.
Jitter
Sometimes Kinaesthetic learners find they can concentrate better when they are bouncing their leg or foot up and down or tapping their fingers on the desk. However, be careful, this may annoy others and if you are in an exam and using this method you may be asked to leave.
